SHIFT Camera Control was updated to include support for the new patch. I wanted to add support for mouse and joysticks but unfortunately I don't have the time to implement this at the moment. Maybe next time...

12\14\09 - v1.4
Added support for 1.02 Patch

Download

P.S. I was unable to test this version myself as my TrackIR device is broken and it was compiled remotely. Please report any issues in the comments.

tested with 1.02 and trackir5 - all works perfectly
thanks for great ability to use trackir with nfs - shift is the first nfs where i can free turn head around without (its a bit annoying that unofficial - but it's much better because of many other good options coming with this util!)
thanks again!

Hi Racer_S,

Thanks for the latest, but it is a step back for me... crashing after every race or if I quit a race sad.gif

That special exe of 1.3 you made worked (sometimes - but others I would see under the track on the second or third race.... had to quit to rectify it) on 1.01 for me, any chance of doing something similar again.... I miss TIR sooo much in this game....

I run Crossfire and have even gone through the pain of taking one of the cards out to see if that makes a difference... it does not.

I have tried the GRID version, but no difference there.

I also have a graphics bug with patch 1.02 that makes all the head/tail/traffic lights flicker.... this is overcome by renamiing the exex to FEAR.exe.... which of course is not recognised by your CC app.... I'm hoping Catalyst 9.12 will sort that out.

Please can you try to make it work for me.... you managed it last time (although it was not 100% stable).... if you recall I unticked the 'Limits' box to get it working (not crashing after every race) but this does not work on 1.4 at all.

Kindest regards
Paul

p.s. hope you got those couple of beers OK?

Thansk for your hard work! smile.gif

Is it possible to edit the speed of movement of the various DOF with TrackIR? I'm hoping to slow the rate of 'roll'. Is this achieved through TrackIR software or your Camera Control software.

OK, so 9.12 does not sort out the head/tail/traffic light flickering. sad.gif

Is there any chance you could make a version of your app to work with the renamed SHIFT.exe as FEAR.exe please, just like you did with the GRID.exe workaround. I can't use the GRID one as the graphics are all screwed on the cars in Crossfire mode.... you never know it may stop crashing to desktop when using your app after each race too... although I'm not holding out for that.

I would install XP on a second drive just to get NFS shift with TrackIR working with your app, only I have 8GB ram in my system, so XP throws a hissy fit and I can't install it sad.gif

Please help smile.gif

Man I really dislike these new ATI drivers... (nVIDIA's new drivers are a pain too.. takes 2 reboots for me)

I've always used nVIDIA stuff, but at my work we have ATI cards in all the designer machines and on one machine I've had to downgrade the drivers to 8.* just to get a Matrox DualHead2go to work again at full resolution..

Anyway, I'll probably add a new feature in the next version that lets you specify the exe name or use a different window finding method. I really wish I could solve this crashing issue. It does seem to be only ATI users, not sure if the Windows version has anything to do with it.

Whats bizarre is NFSS is crashing on Quit Race even after you exit the Camera Control utility completely. (can you confirm this again? maybe check task manager to be sure CC has indeed closed) then return to SHIFT and Quit the race.

Thanks for the Donation! I cant drink beer but maybe I'll grab a coffee biggrin.gif

I can confirm that you are correct.... NFSS is crashing on Quit Race even after you exit the Camera Control utility completely.

I have checked task manager and the Shift Camera Control.exe is not running once I close your application, (at this time the Blue light on TrackIR goes out), then I return to shift.... and Quit race... then Shift.exe crashes.

If I can be of further help with testing and debugging, please shout me... you have my MSN messenger addy don't you?

12\14\09 - v1.4
Added support for 1.02 Patch

Works well during offline races only. On online races, it doesn't work at all. Using Trackir 5.
Anyway, thanks for the effort, this is a great tool.
