Kinect2TIR 2.0 Beta Released

A beta version of Kinect2TIR 2.0 is now available for download.

Kinect2TIR is a standalone software application that enables real-time head pose tracking with TrackIR supported PC video games.

Utilizing the Kinect's infrared depth data, Kinect2TIR allows accurate tracking in low-light conditions with no headgear or additional equipment required.

This isn't particularly anything new (older video) and has been sitting on my hard drive for some months.

It is using the now-deprecated KinectSDK v1. (v2 avalable but not backward compatible)

Still, it may be useful for those who could not get the earlier OpenNI version working.

For some games with encrypted TrackIR compatibility, a small 3rd party utility called TrackIRFixer may be required.

  1. Hello, a other question. Can you upload the source code from iRipper with LZS File Support for Toca Race Driver 3?

  2. Hi Racer_S, nice to see you back.
I want to show you one of my World Racing 2 clips

As you can see when playing I can't use more than the stock game cameras when playing online, I'd love to make some nice montages with a proper CamHack, that would be awesome.
I hope you'll build one for it.
    Thanks in advance!

  4. Any chance that you'd be able to troubleshoot Arma III? We have a large following that are looking for exactly this and we would be happy to donate!

  6. Hello Racer_S,

Thank you for this great software ! It allows finally to use the potential of the Kinect.

However, I've an issue when I try to use it with star citizen. The game doesn't seems to receive the commands from Kinect2TIR. When I use it with Orbiter, everything works pretty well. I tried star citizen with FaceTrackNoIR and the Kinect as a webcam and there, it worked so I believe that the problem is in the Kinect2TIR part.
Do you have an idea ?

    Thank you in advance.

  7. Hello Racer_S,
I've the a similar problem of Lucius. I've downlaoded the kinect SDK, your software, saved a profile and clicked Install NPClient.DLL but anyone trackIr game recognize my head movements.
I've tried , just for curiosity, opentrack with his face tracker and used Kinect as a webcam and it works ingame, so, probably the difference is that I'm using a 64bit OS, with 64bit version of my games and you DLL is 32bit?
In opentrack I can select where the DLL is located and if I'm using the NPClient 32bit provided it doesn't work, if I select the 64bit one, it works.
If you think that this is the reason, is it possible for you to try to update your DLL??
    It could be really great.

    Thanks in advance

  8. Hi Racer,

I love this program, it's working for me in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as well as War Thunder. Great Work

Is there any chance you would know why it has trouble communicating with Arma 3? FaceTrackNoIR seemed to added support for it just in 1.70.. I wonder what changed?
    I hope there's a solution.

    Thanks

    2. To be honest i just started the program as usual, and ran the game and it seemed to recognize the device right away, so I'm not sure. I may have had to restart and check the options to make sure headtracking was enabled but it was very simple.

  13. Hi, I'm having a problem with your software.

I have a fresh install of Windows 10 but whenever I run the program it keeps giving me "0xc000007b" error.

I installed every C++ redistributable ever and it keeps not working.

    What can I do?

  14. No one yet find a way to update this app to 64-bit compatibility?

  15. Is it possible to use this with Kinect 2 for Xbox One? Kinect seems to be working fine on my PC but Kinect2tir 2.0b does not receive any Kinect Data and will not initialize the Kinect. Any help would by much appreciated.

  16. The first time I tried, I failed. I realized something. First you install the kinect driver (without connecting it) and then you connect it. At first the program recognized the kinect but the games did not recognize my movements. I do not know if this helps but sometimes the simple is useful. tested with rfactor, rbr, eurotrack simulator, stock car extreme, grid.

  17. Hello all.
If anyone interested, I have updated this tool to direct head movement to UDP port, so I could use it as an input in OpenTrack or FaceTrackNoIR.
